‘KEEP ON RUNNING’ SOUTH YORKSHIRE CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE

 

REGISTRATION 2006 - 2007

 

  • Numbers are £ 5 each and should be retained for all the races.

·         Under 17 Men and Women should mark their numbers with a coloured diagonal to assist marshals in making sure they run the correct distance.

·         Registration sheets with lists of competitors should be handed to the League Secretary during the first League meeting.  Additions can be made at subsequent meetings – with full details on the appropriate sheet.

·         Please refer to the information sheet attached to the registration sheets.

·         At the final meeting and Championships additions must be made before the start of the competition so that results can be worked out promptly.  Team results will not be adjusted to include athletes who are not registered in time.

·         Additional numbers for clubs may be obtained from the League Secretary.

·         Guest competitors should contact the League Secretary

Age Groups

Ages apply for the whole season and are calculated at 31 August 2006.  This is slightly different to UK Athletics rule 507, because there is an Under 11 age group.  There is a different rule for Veterans (see below).

Juniors                 17, 18 &19 years old

Veterans              Over 40, 50 & 60 for Men / Over 35, 45, 55 for Women on the day of competition (date of first race for individual awards).

 

Championships

Athletes competing in the South Yorkshire Championships must be a member of a club affiliated to the SYCAA or have a county qualification by birth or nine months continuous residence (UK Athletics Rule 9).  Club officials are asked to inform the League Secretary of any of their athletes who do not have a South Yorkshire qualification so that protests, disputes, disqualifications and other such unpleasantness can be avoided.
